Allow the Holy Spirit to Fight Your Battles - Vision
This vision is recorded in my first book. I pray you are blessed by reading it.
Holy Spirit with the Sword of Truth
Contend, Lord, with those who
contend with me; fight against those who fight against me. Take up
shield and armor; arise and come to my aid. Brandish
spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Say to me, “I am your
salvation.”
Psalm
35:1-3
I was praying when I felt a spiritual shift in the
atmosphere of my room. I felt like I was moving by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I saw what looked like the dark starry heavens above the earth. Then, my eyes
came to rest upon a place in the spirit realm where I began to see something
forming in front of me from out of the starry atmosphere.
I saw a light
in the darkness, and it was reflecting off the blade of a long sword pointing
upward. Then I saw a man dressed in full
Roman armor. Suddenly, a spray of light spotlighted him from above. The background
behind him was a midnight blue of heavenly space. He was standing in a fixed fighting
position, and his whole body turned slowly as if he were on a slow rotating
platform.
Moments
passed, and the rotating platform had turned so that I could see the front side
of him. He wore a thick protective breastplate and armor protecting his arms.
His wrists glistened from the spotlight with wide silver bands. He had silvery
colored hair, and when I fully saw his face, he appeared to be about 35 years
in age.
He had a
stern, warlike expression, and his eyes were focused straight ahead. His facial
features were sharp with high cheekbones and a firm jawline. As he held the
sword pointing straight upward, I saw it was a beautiful white silver color
that glistened in the light.
As I observed
the man, I was told in my spirit many times that he was not an angel. I didn’t
understand who he was until later. The sword seemed to move on its own. Then, I
saw the man’s hands wield the sword around in the air a couple of times as if
he were well trained for battle.
Suddenly, I
saw him in a new position, kneeling on one knee. I watched him rise to a full
standing position while swinging the sword around as if to fight. I then understood
that he was taking a stand for God. Finally, God revealed to me who the man
was. As the armed fighter swung the sword around, I heard the Lord speak, “This
is the Holy Spirit, and he fights your battles for you.” Then the Lord brought
this verse to my mind:
This is the word of
the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by
my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts (Zechariah 4:6 ESV).
The Lord told
me this is how he wanted me to fight my battles. He wanted me to rely upon the Holy
Spirit to fight for me. The Holy Spirit is equipped and prepared to fight with
the full might and power of God’s right hand. He uses God’s word which is the
sword of truth to fight against evil on our behalf.
I was
thrilled to have seen the Holy Spirit appear as a strong soldier with full armor
ready to fight my spiritual battles. The encounter greatly increased my faith
to release my battles into God’s hands. I was convinced that we as believers
need to surrender to God in our weakness. He contends in the spirit with those
who contend with us. I was drawn into deeper understanding of the protective
and spiritually war-ready aspect of the heart of God to fight for us and uphold
justice and righteousness.
The Lord is
a warrior; the Lord is his name (Exodus 15:3).
I pray this
encounter helps you to understanding that God has the wisdom and the strength
to fight spiritual battles for us. He is our shield in times of trouble, and
God wants us to take full advantage of what he has provided for our protection.
We put our hope in the LORD. He is our help and our shield (Psalm 33:20 NLT).
